The one constant relationship in our life is our self, and ironically it is also the one that many abandons. At what point do we abandon it? And how many of us ever come to this realization before passing away? People come and go; it’s a fact of life, whether it is through death or simply life events such as marriage, jobs, etc.
So why is it so difficult for some of us to firmly establish a healthy relationship with ourselves? It could be that it is easier to pull from the outside, to dictate external circumstances rather than to have to face our own thoughts, our shadows, that’s where the real work comes in.
Our relationship with our self is also connected to our creator, to the eternal one, the divine one. If we sincerely want a spiritual life we must look in the mirror.
