Mindfulness

Sometimes we get so stuck that we forget that we are allowed to start over again, we forget that we have the freedom of choice to start new, to choose differently for ourselves. Choice is a great power, in the book, “Man’s search for meaning,” by Viktor Frankl, he speaks clearly on how the power of choice is what helped some survive the concentration camps in Germany.

It is this small yet powerful tool that we can choose to change our daily lives, yet, why is it so difficult to do? Because we as humans are creatures of habit, many don’t realize what they are doing; it’s like a rat in an endless maze.

I sometimes find myself in this position, and when I realize it, I snap out of it immediately. I credit my yoga and meditation practice for this; it allows me to become present in my body and aware of myself. What do you do to practice mindfulness?
