Looking back at your day

“We need to do a better job of putting ourselves higher on our own ‘to do’ list.”-Michelle Obama

Do you ever pause at the end of the day and analyze how your day went? This is what my teacher suggested in class. I tried it yesterday, just to see how long it would take me, to my surprise it didn’t take that long once I got my brain going. I was able to reflect on moments where I could have been more present with the people that I was interacting with.

I feel like doing this exercise will make me more accountable with my actions and take responsibility over my life and not feel like a victim. Sometimes that’s the most challenging part of looking back on life, seeing that you could have done something but you didn’t.

We often create unnecessary challenges in life due to fear or force of habit, we don’t see how we are the ones standing in the way of our own happiness. Taking a minute out of your day to see how you could improve on something is a step towards inner freedom. We may not always choose our battles but we can choose our attitudes. Be free, be love, and live.

  1. Yes, sometimes we need to look back to see where we are going. All those minute things we are thinking about during the day prevent us from seeing a bigger picture. I agree it’s very important to have a perspective that gives us that inner freedom and peace.
