If the world ran on money alone we’d be very poor because our hearts would be dark and our souls dead. Nature does not exist on money; it exists on the cooperative work of all living entities such as water, earth, wind, fire, birds, insects, etc. This reflection alone should be enough to make us see that there is more to life than just money. Without the cooperative work of nature, we would not have food, forests, waterfalls, flowers, etc., the planet would be a desolate place and we’d perish. Organizations such as the Make-A-Wish foundation, Meals-on-Wheels, Toastmasters International, and such would not exist if everything were just about money. The work that these and countless other organizations do to contribute to humanity shows the true beauty of the human spirit and what really matters in life-love and the caring of one another as one species, the human species.
I grew up in a family where money was the center of arguments and physical fights, this made me have a negative relationship with money because I detested what it did to the people who were supposed to take care of me. I did not want to lower myself to the level that I saw others do because of money so early on I made certain agreements concerning this topic in order to maintain a level of dignity within me. I’ve made a lot of progress and peace concerning the energy we call money, I honor my heart more than anything because I am well aware that in the end, the only thing that remains is love, and if I allow that to be polluted then what would become of me?
The world runs on love, were this not the truth that I perceive countless acts of courage, peace, and kinship would not exist. Love is one of the most underestimated resources in humanity yet it is the most powerful, the problem is that we have forgotten how to use it and what it looks like in its purity, but most of all we have gotten entangled in the meaningless and mindless drama of life. Darkness exists- that is a given-however nature has darkness too, seeds grow from the dark depths of the soil reach up and sprout to reveal their fruit. In this same manner humanity too can come out of its dark slumber and grow. Our bodies are made out of the same elements as nature, this is why being in nature is so healing because it connects us to a part of our essence, our being, it’s like connecting to our mother-mother nature. I’ve used nature countless times to help heal myself and bring balance and harmony to my state of being. The best part of nature is that it’s non-habit forming, non-toxic, has no side effects, and is completely free!
We must learn to have balance in our lives in order to establish peace within our soul, money is great if we learn how to use it properly; it’s just like any other resource- we can use it or be used by it. That is a lesson in itself, learning to retain our power, our sovereignty, and not be a victim or abuser of the external world. We place value on things therefore it is important to firmly establish our values and not waiver from them. A lesson I learned from a shaman about a year ago is that everything comes from Source/God/Creator/Bob whatever you call that superpower that has created everything that has ever existed and will ever exist. This is one reason why having a solid spiritual practice is important, it helps bring balance between the mundane and spiritual so that we don’t get caught in the money trap and become its slave. We are much more than that, we are divine.
