It is insane to think that we need a pedestal to be amazing, to share love and do well unto others. This is the ‘Hollywood star,’ mentality, the ‘get famous so the whole world can see me,’ illusion. It is disconnected from reality, the truth is that there are countless heroes/sheroes in real life that don’t get the spotlight yet whose work affects their immediate family and/or community. Every ripple counts, we are all connected, we ALL matter. We must get rid of this separation mentality of ‘me against you.’ No, we are all in this together.

This is why it is important to be kind to one another, to share our heart-felt words with each other, to lift each other up. This matters, this makes a difference, love is what makes the world go round and everyone can contribute to it, no matter how small or big-it’s all a matter of perspective because again, we all matter.

Whether it’s the cashier at the check-out counter, the dog walker, or musician, we all have the ability to share a moment of love with one another-one is enough. There have been moments where I’ve felt down and someone just shares a simple smile with me and lifts me up, or a kind word, simple things that have made a difference in my life. It has helped me feel seen in a world where it sometimes feels like everyone is in a rush trying to be somewhere, anywhere but here, in the present moment with some of us who are just trying to make it through the day. What has become of us? Of our society? What truly matters?
