“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”- Barack Obama
Change-even for the good-may be a challenging process in itself. For those that are accustomed to a troubled life, self-sabotage may occur due to a lack of adjustment. We may wish and pray for a better life, a better partner, a different job, etc. However, in the seat of our soul, we aren’t ready for it, yet we imagine how much better life would be if only this or that occurred. It is true when they say that sometimes we are our worst enemy, we put so many barriers to our own happiness, oftentimes unconsciously. It is only when we learn how to truly love and accept ourselves will life begin to change, because life changes from the inside-out.
If we permit love to enter our lives and heal us, it will be transformative, however love will never go against our will-we must first open the door. Can we learn to live differently? Can we learn to get out of our comfort zone? Can we learn to let go to grow? These are questions we must first ask of ourselves if we are to transform into an updated version of who we are.
This is so true. I also realise a lot of us just tell ourselves we can’t change because of age and out of laziness.
