“There is a huge amount of freedom that comes to you when you take nothing personally”-Don Miguel Ruiz
I spent this weekend healing and processing an event that occurred a couple of weeks ago. I feel much clearer about it all, much lighter, happier. While at a sweat lodge a message came to me; I am not that story. The event happened, it hurt, but it is not who I am. I learned that I needed to let the story go and not identify with it, take the lesson from it and let it go.
The problem is that we are so used to the pain, that we forget what it is to live without it, we forget who we are. And there is fear with that as well, who are you without that story? You are amazing, you are love, you are peace-that is who you are once you let that darkness go, you let the light shine through.
People can do harmful things, but that’s their problem, not yours. You are only responsible for what is on your plate-nothing else- you set the boundaries, you set the rules, you-just you. It becomes our problem when we allow their darkness become our darkness-then we have a problem because we are now taking an event that happened just once and constantly repeat it over and over. The person who may have hurt you did harm once-but then we continue to use that poison on ourselves-and that’s where the madness is.
Have enough love for yourself that you can let that darkness go, that is the only way to free yourself, let it go.
