“Friends and good manners will carry you where money won’t go.”-Margaret Walker
Let’s talk about manners, those old fashioned things that make a community nice and cozy. I will say this much- manners can never go out of style- they are a form of mutual respect unto one another regardless of age/sex/religion/etc. But I feel there is so much more to manners, to me, it is like saying Namaste. Living in Los Angeles County I find it so refreshing to come across someone with manners, someone who acknowledges your existence and isn’t walking around like a zombie just bumping into things.
As a woman, I feel that it is especially important because it reminds us of how to be treated with respect. When you treat someone with respect and courtesy you remind them of their value. There may be people who’ve never experienced such treatment before and will suddenly know what it’s like to be treated with respect. The feeling of being respected and valued is priceless, it just may help someone raise their self esteem or brighten their day.
Be abundant and share the simple things in life such as thank you and excuse me, these are the true jewels in our daily interactions with one another.
The quote is great.
